Headteachers’ Blog

Our Autumn Term is now in full swing, children have settled in beautifully and are already making every learning minute count! Our teachers have been busy over the summer planning an enriching and interesting curriculum to help the children progress with their skills.  A child’s education relies on the partnership between school and home, so we welcome families in to share and support with this educational journey.

Year 5 immersed themselves in the Anglo Saxon era on our first week back, sporting traditional outfits whilst re-enacting the Battle of Ethandune with an Anglo-Saxon Warrior visiting our school! The whole year group showed off their incredible acting and performance skills as they threw themselves into every aspect of Anglo-Saxon Life!

Our new Reception pupils have begun their transition into the school and I can honestly say how wonderful it is to see all of their smiling faces, they have settled into school life exceptionally well and we are looking forward to continuing to watch them grow and develop into outstanding members of our community.

Clubs have begun this week and we hope the vast variety will spark the interest of all our pupils. There are still some spaces left in a couple of them, so speak to the office to sign up today!

This term we have welcomed Mr Pearce and Miss Warner to the team, and welcomed back Miss Eveleigh who has just come back off maternity leave.

Year 6 are holding a delicious bake sale this afternoon to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, cakes will be available on the Key Stage 1 playground straight after school, so come on down and donate for such a worthwhile cause.

Here’s to a fantastic term and great start to a new academic year!
