Y2 Survival Day
On Monday, Y2 had an exciting time building dens, lighting fires, toasting marshmallows and trying their hand at archery. The drizzle did not dampen anyone’s spirits as all the children immersed themselves into team building skills and survival. This amazing day was part of our Antarctica topic where we are learning about Ernest Shackleton and his heroic skills in keeping all of his team alive and rescuing them after they were stranded on Elephant Island. The children certainly enjoyed all the activities (and the adults enjoyed them too) that had been arranged for them and were buzzing with excitement back in the classroom.
We took lots of photos of this fantastic day but can only share a few with you as parental consent to share these for many children in Y2 has not been given. Throughout the year, it is going to be a highlight of our learning to share photos with you via the school’s FaceBook page through this blog and it would be amazing if we could include photos of all the children (or as many as possible). Please re-consider allowing us to do this if you have previously not given your consent to do so. If you would like to talk further about this to Mrs Newbury or Mrs Porter, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
